Congressman Taylor Visits Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Hampton, VA., January 18, 2017--Today, Congressman Scott Taylor visited the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Congressman Taylor had a productive meeting with key medical and administrative staff and was able to get a better understanding of both the challenges and the opportunities to improve care for our veterans. He also had the chance to speak with several individuals receiving care at the facility.
Congressman Taylor had this to say about his visit today: “As a veteran who is in the system at the VA, I know there are shortcomings. That being said, I am confident that with both executive actions of the incoming administration and legislative actions by the new Congress, we will move in the right direction to provide the care for veterans that their service demands. Our area is the fastest growing for veterans care in the nation, particularly for women and OIF/OEF veterans. As a new member of the Military Construction/Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Appropriations, I will have a direct impact on care for current and future veterans. This is not something I take lightly."
