Congressman Scott Taylor Statement on Protecting Chesapeake Bay Program
As the sole Virginian appropriator, today my office submitted an appropriations request to fully restore the $73 million to the Chesapeake Bay Program that was reportedly removed in the President’s budget. I grew up on the Eastern Shore and close to the Chesapeake Bay, worked on farms and in a crab house restaurant. Not only does the Chesapeake Bay have a profound local economic impact, it is a national treasure and we must do everything we can to protect it now, and in the future. I will continue to aggressively advocate for the appropriate funds to restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
