Congressman Taylor Joins Senator Moreno in Announcement at Pixelle Paper Mill Site

October 10, 2025

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO – Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) today joined Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH), Ross County Commissioner David Glass, Former Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Robin Bernstein, Co-Owner John Todoroki, and local leaders at the Pixelle Paper Mill site to announce its sale to the U.S. Paper Mill Company LLC, with the U.S. Medical Glove Company (USMGC) beginning operations as the incoming tenant. This acquisition will ultimately lead to the creation of hundreds of local jobs.

“The purchase of the site is a long-anticipated moment for our community, and I am elated to see this company’s investment in our region and in the former employees of the Pixelle Paper Mill,” said Congressman Taylor. “Buckeye families can breathe a sigh of relief that local jobs are returning, and with them, more business for surrounding store owners. And with Ohio being home to the third largest manufacturing workforce in the Nation, there’s no better place to tap into a skilled workforce than right here in Chillicothe.”

“For over 200 years, the Pixelle Paper Mill has been a cornerstone of the community, employing generations of Ohioans,” said Senator Moreno. “U.S. Medical Glove Co.’s investment in Chillicothe will revitalize Ohio manufacturing and bring high-paying wages to families in Ross County that allow them to live with dignity. I am honored to fight for some of the hardest working people I have met!”

“Today’s announcement is very promising news. It’s rare to secure a new user for a facility as quickly as has happened in this case. It was truly a team effort,” said Senator Husted. “With this announcement, and the recent news about new jobs at the Piketon uranium enrichment facility, I’m hopeful the region will see a real economic boost.”

The site of the former Pixelle Specialty Solutions Paper Mill was sold to the U.S. Paper Mill Company LLC, and the U.S. Medical Glove Company will function as an initial primary tenant to manufacture medical and surgical gloves. The site was officially acquired on October 7, and USMGC assigned 40 employees from their Harvard, Illinois facility to operationalize the site and begin training southern Ohio’s skilled workforce. At least 50 former Pixelle employees have been hired so far, with USMGC looking to significantly expand the production capability of the plant beyond the two lines currently present and hire hundreds of additional workers.

Founded in 2021, USMGC is a U.S.-based manufacturer of medical and surgical gloves that prioritizes the complete production of its products on American soil, from raw materials and chemicals for its gloves to the final product. The company invests in innovation improvements in fabrication, robotics, automated machining, chemicals, medical examination gloves, surgical under and over gloves, industrial gloves, masks, and engineering.

USMGC produces approximately 2 billion gloves annually and is the only U.S. maker of Polyisoprene, a polymer used to manufacture surgical gloves. With this mission, USMGC helps reduce the United States’ dependence on foreign Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supply chains, improve domestic health security, and create quality American manufacturing jobs. Through U.S. Federal Government contracts and funding, USMGC’s efforts for domestic manufacturing capacity building have been supported by the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of the Air Force, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response.
